That's sad, they are such great bits of kit, typical of hard times and often people not wanting to py the extra for quality, probably put out of business by people buying "Bike Mikes" - Sorry if you have "Bike Mike"

Looks to be true:

Only upside is chainspeed may sell all the old stock cheap, they always did great deals and used to get all the end of line stuff - eyes peeled cos when they are gone we will all be buggered :!:

Maybe not I think liability is actually with supplier under consumer law - and for most things 2 years regardless of what most shops / manufacturers claim

Not all doom and gloom, I asked Sam at Chainspeed about Stock levels and and liquidated stock going cheap, warranty and what is the "next best thing" as Autocom have always been so far ahead, I got this reply.

Quote:
Thanks for your email. Answers as per your questions below are as follows:

1. I do have stock of most kits and accessories however there was no stock to be sold off by Autocom when the company went into forced liquidation.
2. Unfortunately not, if anything, prices may increase on discounted parts due to the huge demand and limited availability.
3. All products we sell come with a no-quibble 12 month warranty.
4. No, Autocom is without a doubt the only one for us. The Brand should be re-established over the coming months under new ownership which hopefully will get things back on track.

I have plenty of the Kit 200’s however very few Kit 300’s left in stock. If you want to upgrade to the Kit 300 (Super Pro Avi), you would need to be very quick, however if you are happy to wait 3-6 months, Autocom should be back in business and manufacturing products again.

I hope this helps and if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Kind Regards & Happy New Year to you and all the Forum members.

Autocom are back in business and normal service will soon be resumed.

As ever if you need anything Sam at Chainspeed is the man :thumbup

http://www.chainspeed.co.uk/

Note also massively extended product range now available, not just Autocom's.

Read the administration paperwork on the Autocom saga - they are now owned by a company called Tecstar, based in the Peterborough area (I think) but will still trade as and keep the Autocom brand name.

On the upside, anyone who doesn't know this will be selling them off cheap - if it saves a few quid then thats more fuel in the tank. :D

Sam at Chainspeed still has a few bargains on the old 200 range, unfortunately the stock was quite run down when they hit problems.

Currently a 200 it can be had for £120 which is a real bargain and a 150 for a mere £75 :!:

The new logic kit starts at a reasonable £175, but he told me that the old range was just as good and even when I waved money in his face still said I would be as well to keep my 200 kit until the "next" generation comes along.

He also reckons the independance is a bit dissapointing and even with a £200 discount it still weighs in at a whopping £350 - I asked if the range would work between bikes and apparently won't unless you can stay about 2 foot apart.
