hate Windows 7

I miss my XP .............. I'm trying to like Win 7 but can't

Still on XP, but was considering 'upgrading' W7.

Maybe I'll hang on a tad....

That's cos it is shite, designed to be easier for idiots that cannot be arsed to learn how to use a computer and therefore frustrates the crap out of the competent, "are you sure", "are you still sure", "did you mean", like that crappy paperclip office used to have, but at least you could turn that shite off.

For us network geeks there is loads of good stuff and managing thousands of them on a network is much better, still rather have XP for me and 7 for everyone else.

2008 Servers are just as bloody annoying, FFS if you don't know what your at you should not be anywhere near them and Microsoft are trying to make it easy for any twonk to be able to f*** around with stuff they don't understand - hopefully all lead to more work for me in the end

I'm about a day away from a complete reformat and going back to XP, I'm a patient laid back guy but TBH this win 7 crap is trying my patience like ................ well like nothing has since WinME.which I equally hated (especially the mem leak and I went back to 98 till xp come out, BSOD's were just more fun )

It all looked so promising ............. but

I like the desktop gadgets (well I had to find SOMETHING positive to say )
sure it sets up easy incl internet and home network (damn thats 2 positives now ) but thats where easy ends

call me simples or old fashoned but apart from not handling yEnc on nntp (which it will with a third party workaround) OE did the job well for me and I really do hate this WLM client, and I can't get on with thunderbird or other clients and I've tried a few.

trying to trace something on XP is like find it and fix it, on 7 it's a bloody nightmare trying to find anything.

UAC is getting on my tits too, so that's turned off.

DTL is just one of many progs I use that either wont set up or wont run and I'm fed up spending hours trying to get stuff to work or finding newer versions of software so it works.

customising things to be functional rather than pretty is nigh on impossible

oh and it randomly decides whether or not to recognise my ipod fix is remove driver in system --> device manager and re plug in ipod and it installs never had shit like that in XP

My Road angel update software is just one of a few that needs to be run in XP mode

It's just such hard work to do even the simplist thing in 7

but what really pisses me off is all the support forums saying it's progress, and how great it is ........... what a load of bollocks

I like things on my comp to be 3 things
1) simples,
2) to the point,
3) and to be able to easilly make it all work the way I want it too

is that too much to ask for ? well with Win 7 the answer is obviously yes, coz MS (thinks it) knows best

I can so feel XP coming back to a computer near me very soon

I'm even thinking linux may be easier to use

I never bothered with Vista and I so wanted 7 to be a major breakthrough like XP was (once the SP's and patches were sorted) but it is, what it is ................. a complete letdown IMO.
